Wasted – the trouble with rubbish!
Reduce, reuse, recycle is the slogan for all as everyone is encouraged to clean up and dispose of their waste in an effective way.
‘Wasted – the Trouble with Rubbish’ exhibition visits Satrosphere Science Centre until early February
This interactive exhibition, demonstrates what happens to waste when it leaves the home to be recycled and warns of the dangers for the planet if we don’t learn to reduce, reuse, recycle.
Designed with minimal waste and using recycled materials, the exhibits include a coffee table made out of a washing machine drum and a chair made from a wheelbarrow.
Wasted also features a quiz, a landfill game, demonstrations on how energy can be made from waste and deals with Tricky Decisions NIMBYism (Not In My Back Yard) and how such problems can be solved.
COASTAL POWER
A new exhibition which explores both the science and environmental issues associated with the construction of wave energy, tidal energy and offshore wind farms around the coastline of the UK. It includes art work, video presentations, and an interactive model wave tank.
Changing Times, Changing Attitudes
Changing Times, Changing Attitudes ‘mapping 30 years of social care’ is a celebration of Cornerstone’s 30th Anniversary of providing person centred social care for 30 years in Scotland. This exhibition captures images, information and stories that reflect the lives of people living with disabilities, their families and those working in social care.

Fabric of the Land
Fabric of the Land is a series of exhibitions, currently on display at Satrosphere, curated by Smart Consultants that explores links between art and science and is brought to you by the Geology & Petroleum Geology Department at the University of Aberdeen.
The artworks included in the 2011 tour have been selected from the 2010 exhibition, the second in the Fabric of the Land series entitled ‘Origin of Colour’. The brief encouraged emerging and established artists to submit artworks that considered the origin of colour within the environment and landscape from a geological perspective.
