About Us

Satrosphere is Scotland’s first science and discovery centre. Originally opened in 1988 we have been engaging people with science for over 21 years. Our interactive, hands-on exhibits and live science shows help our visitors discover more about the world around them and the science of how things work.

If you need a break during your visit you can relax and unwind in our new look coffee house situated within the centre. We offer a range of light lunches, delicious home baked goods and we proudly brew Starbucks coffee. With comfortable sofas, free Wi Fi facilities and a selection of newspapers and science magazines, the coffee house provides the perfect place for taking it easy. While you are here, make sure you visit Satrosphere’s Science Shop.  You’ll find a fantastic range of educational posters, science kits, models, gifts and books. From small pocket money items to science-themed books and posters, we stock a wide range of unusual items.

With free parking and close proximity to Aberdeen’s Fun Beach and many other attractions, a visit to Satrosphere is not to be missed.

Satrsphere Science Centre is part of the Scottish Science Centres Network, along with Dundee Science Centre, Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh and Glasgow Science Centre.

Satrosphere aims to inspire the scientists of tomorrow and to spark renewed interest in university science courses, currently in decline.

Satrosphere Limited is a registered Scottish education charity engaged in promoting the public understanding of science.

By visiting Satrosphere, as well as enjoying a fun learning experience, you will be helping us to provide engaging science education for schools and the wider community, supporting science literacy today.

Charity Number: SC014922.
